Float Treatments NEW

How Does A Float Pod Work?

The pod, a cocoon-like enclosure, offers a totally serene environment free off outside distractions and stimuli.

The float solution is a mixture of filtered water and a high concentration of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate). This makes the water extremely buoyant and allows you to safely float, and even fall asleep during your 60 minute session.

The water is heated to skin temperature which aids in relaxing your muscles and creating a sense of weightlessness. Wearing swimwear is optional however floating nude is recommended.

The water is automatically filtered and treated between every appointment and is regularly refreshed for hygiene and safety.

What To Expect

1. We ask you arrive 15 minutes prior to your booked appointment.

2. We’ll escort you to your private pod room where you’ll be given easy to follow instructions on how to prepare for your float as well as how to operate your float tank lid and lighting.

3. Prior to entering the pod, we ask you fully undress, removing all jewelry, watches and accessories and then shower, including rinsing your hair. This is also your opportunity to put in the ear plugs provided.

4. Step into the tank and close the lid – note, you may leave the lid open if you wish. Your room is totally private and the lights will automatically turn off a few minutes after movement is no longer detected.

5. Lie on your back and adjust the neck pillow provided if you wish. The high density of the salted water will help you float without any effort.

6. If selected, your music will likely already be playing by the time you enter the pod. If you have opted for no soundtrack, your float experience will be one of total sensory deprivation.

7. Your Float will go for an hour in total, allowing you to drift away in total relaxation.

8. Music plays for the last five minutes of your session.

9. Get out of the tank once your session has ended.

10. Shower again and get dressed.

The Science!

According to…

“A sensory deprivation tank, also called an isolation tank or flotation tank, is used for restricted environmental stimulation therapy (REST). It is a dark, soundproof tank that is filled with a foot or less of salt water.”

“Studies suggest time spent floating in a sensory deprivation tank may have some benefits in healthy people, such as muscle relaxation, better sleep, decrease in pain, and decreased stress and anxiety.”

“A 2018 studyTrusted Source showed that a single one-hour session in a sensory deprivation tank was capable of a significant reduction in anxiety and improvement in mood in the 50 participants with stress- and anxiety-related disorders.”

“A small study of seven participants found it effective in treating whiplash-associated disorders, such as neck pain and stiffness and reduced range of motion. It has also been shown to reduce stress-related pain.”
